(MEMPHIS, TN) – On Thursday, November 20th, members of the Memphis Fire Fighters Association Foundation, along with Memphis Fire Director Alvin Benson, were on hand at the Wings Cancer Foundation to donate $12,000 from proceeds from breast cancer awareness t-shirt sales during the month of October. This is the third year the MFFA has made such a donation from pink t-shirt sales.
The Wings Cancer Foundation of Memphis offers programs and services of support to those with cancer free of charge. They’re able to operate on donations such as this.
“The men and women of the Memphis Fire Fighters Association remain committed to this community, and we’re glad we can make this donation to a great organization to help them continue their great mission in Memphis and the surrounding area. Not only do we thank our members who wore these shirts on duty, but we had a significant number of citizens purchase these shirts, so we thank them as well,” says Thomas Malone, Chairman of the MFFA Foundation and President of the Memphis Fire Fighters Association.
